Franz and Sofia's wedding
Travel Guide for Internationl Guests
Planning your trip to Abu Dhabi?
This checklist can help make your travel smooth and stress free. Whether you are flying in for the weekend or staying a little longer, everything you need to know is outlined below.
1. Book your flights
We recommend flying into Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH), which is around 25 to 30 minutes from both the church and the reception venue.
You may also arrive through Dubai International Airport (DXB). If you choose this option, please plan ahead and prebook your transport to Abu Dhabi so your journey is smooth and hassle free. The drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic.
Our wedding is on Saturday, 31 January 2026. This gives you time to settle in, rest, and enjoy the celebration without feeling rushed.
Check visa requirements
Filipino passport holders are required to obtain a visa before traveling to the UAE. We recommend checking with travel agencies for assistance. Here are some of the agencies we have in contact:
Cozmo Travel
Pinas Tourism
Many visit visas already include travel insurance, but this may vary. Please make sure to double check what is covered before finalizing your application.
Make sure to confirm the latest requirements and fees through your chosen travel agency, airline, or the official UAE government portal (https://u.ae/en/information-and-services/visa-and-emirates-id) before you travel.
Arrange your accommodation
We recommend staying near the wedding venues for comfort and convenience. The ceremony will take place on Saadiyat Island and the reception will be held in the city center, so choosing accommodation within these areas will make your stay smoother.
There are many options ranging from serviced apartments to beachfront resorts and city hotels. You may select the location and style that best suit your preferences and travel plans. January is a busy period in the UAE, so booking your accommodation early is highly recommended.
4. Plan your transport
Taxis are reliable and widely available throughout Abu Dhabi. You may also book rides using the Yango app. If you prefer to drive, rental cars are available at the airport, major hotels and malls.
Prepare for the weather
January in Abu Dhabi is pleasantly cool. You may wish to bring a light jacket or shawl for comfort. Both the ceremony and the reception will be held indoors.
Review the dress code
Our wedding follows a formal daytime dress code and the church observes specific modesty guidelines. Please read the Dress Code section to ensure you are prepared.
Know the locations
Both locations have convenient drop off points, taxi access, and available parking.

Submit your RSVP
Please complete the RSVP form on our website before you travel so we can prepare accordingly. Guests may confirm their attendance and request a song to be played at our reception, or leave a message if they are unable to attend.
Abu Dhabi is generally safe and welcoming for visitors, and both the city and its transport services are well regulated.
To ensure a smooth trip, we recommend keeping your passport, travel insurance details, hotel confirmation, and transport arrangements easily accessible throughout your journey.
Airport taxis operate 24 hours a day and are safe and reliable. If you plan to use ride hailing services, the Yango app is available on both Android and iOS.
As with any international travel, it is best to stay aware of your belongings, keep digital copies of important documents, and follow any guidance provided by your airline or accommodation.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Please RSVP by 05 December, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
